Annie Lennox

Annie Lennox was born in Aberdeen Scotland on December 25 1954. Dorothy Farquharson & Thomas Allison Lennox is the name used by her parents. Lennox was accepted into the Royal Academy of Music in London in the 70s, where she studied the flute piano and the harpsichord over three years. She was able to survive on her student stipend and work part-time jobs. While in the Royal Academy Lennox was dissatisfied by her performance when compared with her peers and contemplated a possible alternative path she might follow. Lennox joined a group called Dragons Playground as the flute player in 1976. But she quit before her band was asked to participate in I.T.V.'s talent contest New Faces. From 1977 until 1980, she was the singer-songwriter for The Tourists, a British Pop band. In this band, she met Dave Stewart who would later form Eurythmics. Lennox was later able to release her first solo album Diva. It was released in the year 1992. The album was a massive achievement with regard to the sales as well as critical acclaim. Nostalgia Lennox's sixth solo record was released in November 2014. The C.D. contains a collection of Lennoxs favourite soul jazz and blues tunes from her upbringing. Lepidoptera is a collection of four tracks that she improvised for piano that Lennox released in May, 2019. The E.P. She released her first solo album in conjunction with her work at the Massachusetts Museum of Contemporary Art, titled "Now I'm letting You Go."
