In Toronto she studied acting classes after having the success of modeling and dancing. Her mother was born in the Philippines, while her father was of Irish and Scottish roots. Mitchell is also in a close friendship to Lea Salonga. She is an actress, singer and musical theater actor. Mitchell was a student at Rockridge Secondary, before switching to West Vancouver Secondary. She had already modeled around the world by the time she reached her teens. After a trip to Barcelona, Bangkok and Hong Kong she went back to Toronto to study acting.
